Sebastian M. Hoskins joined the firm as an associate in September 2010. He handles transaction related matters for corporate clients in the areas of organizational structure, management of assets, capitalization, compliance with state and federal securities regulations, and financial valuations. Sebastian also has a thorough understanding of copyright law, trademark and intellectual property law, as well as with general corporate transactions.
Sebastian’s interest in art and entertainment began with a passion for photography, independent and foreign film, and various forms of visual art. He has previously held positions with International Creative Management (ICM), Cinetic Media, GreeneStreet Pictures, Oscilloscope Pictures, and served as a summer associate for Sills Cummis Epstein & Gross, P.C.
Sebastian is native of San Francisco, but spent several years living in Southern California. He moved to New York in 2005 to attend Rutgers School of Law – Newark and the Rutgers School of Business where he earned his J.D./M.B.A., with concentrations in both Finance and Entrepreneurship, and received the Dean Merit Scholarship Award. While pursuing his graduate education, he was an active member of the Entertainment Law Society and the Finance & Investment Society. He also held a position as a Student Teacher for the subject of Tort law.
Sebastian is a member of both The State Bar of New York and The State Bar of California*. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and The U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit. He is also actively involved in organizations such as The New York State Bar Association (Motion Picture Committee for the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section), Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts – New York (Volunteer Lawyer), Independent Film Project, and has recently become a voting member for the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards.
In his leisure time he enjoys traveling, engaging in various sports activities, and spending time with his family and friends.
